herges detection GmbH is setting new standards in security technology. As a spin-off from Kiel University (CAU), we have developed a process that makes detecting explosives as simple and fast as a rapid antigen test. This innovative strength has now received international recognition: we are proud to announce a €100,000 grant from the NATO "DIANA" program.

Our Technology: Precision in 15 Seconds Based on the molecular research of Prof. Rainer Herges, our test strips utilize a patented metal porphyrin. The principle is both efficient and mobile:

  • Easy to Use: A special "activator" is applied to the test strip.

  • Instant Results: Upon contact with a substance, a color scale indicates within seconds whether an explosive (e.g., TNT, TATP, or HNS) is present and identifies exactly which type.

  • Applications: From investigating ATM bombings with explosive ordnance disposal units to protecting critical infrastructure from suspicious mail—our tests provide immediate certainty on-site.

From the Lab to Global Deployment Founder Dr. Stefan Kloth emphasizes the importance of this development for the international market. While Germany remains a safe environment, our technology offers a vital time advantage in high-risk regions—such as during the raid of illegal laboratories or in border security operations.
